About Strömsund Parish

Strömsund Parish is a typical rural parish consisting of seven congregations.

We are a Sami administrative municipality, so it is important that we continue to develop cooperation across borders.

The parish is large and we spend many hours driving to meet the population in various contexts, so it is crucial that you are not afraid of long and frequent travels when you start working with us.

The parish office is located in the central town of Strömsund. The number of members is approximately 7,100, about 65% of the population.

Since our current parish priest intends to retire, we are looking for someone who can continue the work in Strömsund Parish.

We are seeking a parish priest with the ambition to develop and inspire both work teams, church councils, parish councils, and volunteers.

You have:

* good communication skills and are receptive to development

* a straightforward and honest leadership style

* a heart for the church's mission to awaken living faith

* experience as a leader and preferably working in rural areas

* a structured and clear way of working

* the ability to plan for the long and short term

* the ability to hold the parish together despite geographical distances and local traditions

* a responsive leadership style that values employees' competencies

* personal maturity and integrity

General

We assume that you share the values of the Church of Sweden, that you are a priest and have the required parish priest education. The position is a permanent employment at 100%.

Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period.

Start date is September 1, 2025.

A probationary period may apply.

A valid driver's license is required.
